I always felt intimidated or confined by conventional sketch books for their small size and book bound restrictions. As an artist I like to explore various mediums, textures, colors, concepts, and themes before I settle on a finished composition. As I start working on large rolls of drawing paper, sketching, college, painting, stamping, stenciling, and just combing whatever comes to mind, letting myself just flow within the moment. When approaching the large unfinished piece in progress daily with new insight, and emotion. There are no ideas, shapes, or sizes that are judged each are sketched down to settle into the composition, which takes form in a new day and new light for sparking a new direction in my work.

This has led me to surrounding myself in a ongoing, working, forever expanding larger than life sketch book. Which encompasses my daily exploration and practice of my art. The work may be a means to an end or a growing ever changing piece which may accentuate the other drawings or stand alone on its own. It then unveils new meaning as the viewer perceives the work as their own interpretation. Addressing the work as a "breathing" energetic work of art. Each day has new meaning for itself as I approach my art with enthusiasm and inspiration. Forever, unveiling new potential for the paper to grow and envision future composition for my paintings.
